Position Description

Founded in 1936, the National Wildlife Federation has grown into America’s largest and most trusted grassroots conservation organization with 52 state and territorial affiliates and more than seven million members and supporters, including hunters, anglers, gardeners, birders, hikers, campers, paddlers, and outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and stripes. The mission of the National Wildlife Federation is to unite all Americans to ensure wildlife thrive in our rapidly changing world. We advance this mission through programming focused on conserving wildlife, restoring habitats and waterways, expanding outdoor opportunities, connecting children with nature, advancing environmental justice, and addressing the causes and consequences of climate change.

NWF’s Education and Engagement Department implements programs from pre-K through higher education and in communities throughout the country. By working directly with youth, as well as with parents, teachers, and community leaders, these programs aim to develop the next generation of conservationists who can successfully address environmental challenges now and in the future.

NWF is a founding member of the Climate Equity Collaborative™ (CEC). The CEC is a public-private-partnership that engages nontraditional partners, with emphasis on youth and underserved communities, in climate innovation and climate action. Our aim is to engage at the system-level by centering our initiatives on climate education, children’s environmental health, environmental justice, and to construct more on-ramps to the global climate conversation by building impactful partnerships.
