Compensation: Paid hourly depending on experience: $24.86 – $27.46
Location: The office location is 11018 NE 51st Circle, Vancouver, WA 98682. Hybrid work environment with required in-person events and activities.
Job Responsibilities: 40% Communications, 40% Outreach, 15% Education and Volunteer Management, 5% Other Duties.

The Communications and Outreach Lead is a critical member of Clark CD’s team and will lead, develop, and align the District’s communications and outreach efforts. This position’s primary responsibility is collaborating across District programs to create and execute effective communications and outreach strategies that promote the District’s mission, programs, and goals.

Suggested Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree involving major study in communications, graphic design, marketing, business, public relations, natural resources, environmental sciences or studies, education, or another applicable field. Applicable paid job experience may be accepted in place of a degree.

  • Two to five years of paid experience in communications, marketing, outreach, or educational programming.

  • Valid, unrestricted driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience writing, designing, developing, and editing print and online outreach material.

  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign and Illustrator).

  • Strong skills in multi-tasking and the ability to meet multiple deadlines with an exceptional standard of quality control.

  • Ability to adapt written and spoken communication to various audiences using formal and informal communications.

  • Knowledge and experience with Community-Based Social Marketing theory and its application to natural resource-based outreach.

  • Advanced desktop computer literacy and computer software skills. Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Smartsheet, etc., and learn new technologies to perform the functions of the position.

  • Demonstrated experience with relationship building and community engagement and existing connections with local community groups.

  • Demonstrated commitment to, training in, and experience with the practical application of diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies.

  • Knowledge/experience working within grant deliverables and budgets.

  • Experience leading and coordinating volunteers.

  • Experience with Squarespace, WordPress, or other website hosting platforms.

  • Spoken and/or written proficiency in Spanish and/or Russian languages.
