Summary of role
This Internship is an opportunity to work with our External Affairs and Statistics Teams on IWC Document & Knowledge Retention. Managing and backdating the digital archives of IWC historical documents and institutional knowledge. The intern will audit and collate current and historical document holdings to ensure a smooth and complete transition from paper to digital format. Tasks will involve a combination of scanning, collation, meta data-entry and referencing. The intern will have exposure to sensitive internal documentation and historical documentation from a broad range of topics in the Marine Biology field and will gain experience in digitisation methods.

Person Specification
Current undergraduate student or recent graduate Passion for cetacean conservation

Work Schedule
12 weeks with 37.5 hours/week.
2 days per week will be spent on IWC data cataloguing and archiving with our Stats Team, the other 3 days will be spent working with our External Affairs Team on the IWC archives.
Intern will be paid a UK national living wage rate of £10.50/hour.

Essential Skills
Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and OneDrive/SharePoint, Collaborative working.

Desirable Skills
Adobe Acrobat, Endnote, knowledge of the following languages could be an advantage
(optional): Russian, Norwegian, Korean, Japanese.
