Capital and Asset Management Program (CAMP)

Come join the CAMP team as a Construction Project Coordinator! 

The Capital and Asset Management Program’s mission is to serve the Department by delivering technical and professional engineering, construction, and maintenance to sustain facilities, infrastructure, and ecosystems under the Department’s care.

Support the Facilities team and the management of the WDFW statewide administrative space, encompassing over 1,400 owned facilities and an additional 79 leased facilities. Provide detailed information regarding all buildings and use types to provide an updated portfolio for the Agencies records. 

With that in mind, this is an opportunity to utilize your attention to detail while maintaining databases and files related to WDFW facilities. 

In this dynamic role, you will find balance between being in the office and out in the field. 

With your experience you will act as a facility liaison between Shops, CAMP and facility to determine facility condition assessments.

The optimal applicants are customer-oriented with a focus on building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.

Duties
Our Project Coordinator,
Maintains databases and master files: 

  • Verifies drawings of statewide inventory in relation to all DFW buildings and structures to include administrative office, hatcheries, and wildlife areas.
  • Updates existing working AutoCAD drawings by working with CAMP drafting team.
  • Assists in creating new drawings by preparing line drawings of existing facilities using field sketches and photos.
  • Updates data in Facilities Portfolio Management Tool (FPMT) for monthly reporting.
  • Assist in the development of cost estimates with facilities team for project requests.

Performs field work: 

  • Travel to DFW owned properties to obtain technical information, photos and measurements.
  • Coordinate scheduling with onsite staff, be a facility liaison between Shops, CAMP and facility to determine facility condition assessments.
  • Inspect statewide facilities to determine new potential projects scope and preliminary cost estimates.
  • Work with Cultural Resources staff to determine if building is historical or if it should be reviewed for historical preservation.

Performs facility coordination: 

  • Administers invoices in Smartsheet for payment such as contract payments and invoice requests 
  • Serves as the primary contact for scheduling statewide projects
  • Consults in office reconfiguration proposals
  • Assists in planning and coordination of reconfiguration and construction activities in statewide facilities
  • Issues appropriate documentation to Facilities Planners regarding facility maintenance needs and appropriate action items.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work Setting, including hazards:
    • Duties are performed in an office setting with extensive computer use. 
  • Schedule:
    • Typical schedule of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, occasional overtime may be required. 
    • Remote and/or telework opportunities may be considered.
  • Travel Requirements:
    • Some overnight travel will be required for this position.
  • Tools and Equipment:
    • Office equipment includes telephone, cell phone, computer, printer and copier machines, as well as being able to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Customer Interactions:
    • Customer service is integral to department and program success.

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Closely related qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-by-year basis.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in building construction, industrial engineering, or related field. 

AND 

  • Two (2) years of experience planning, scheduling, or coordinating facility maintenance and construction projects.  

PLUS

  • Purchasing and inventory experience, familiarity of GIS, and Data/File management
  • Data base development and management experience
  • One (1) year experience providing customer service

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One quarter AutoCAD training or AutoCAD certification or ability to provide within first six months of employment.
  • Experience in quality assurance efforts and constructability checks
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications, database and drafting software

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to obtain a P-Card within one year of hire
