Seattle Foundation hosts more than 50 scholarship programs annually. Here is a list of some of the opportunities currently available.

Please note that the scholarship cycle generally launches in November with deadlines in March of the next year. Please see below to read more about each scholarship’s deadline and eligibility.

Seattle Foundation is grateful for the partnership with Microsoft to provide access to students to pursue higher education.  As of July 19, 2022, we are no longer hosting Microsoft scholarships for the 2022-23 school year.  Please reach out to Microsoft directly for the following scholarship opportunities:

Anne D. Maloof Scholarship (Graduate and Undergraduate Studies)

To honor and financially assist graduate, professional or undergraduate students in Island, Kitsap, Jefferson and Thurston counties. This is a one-time scholarship for $3,000 dollars. Application on: Scholarship America

Atsuhiko Tateuchi Memorial Scholarship

This $5,000 renewable scholarship is available to students from the Pacific Rim states of California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska and Hawaii; preference will be given to students of Japanese or other Asian ancestry, including multi-ethnic Asians. Note there are two application programs – one for students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees and one for vocational/trade programs.

Bernie Minsk Scholarship

This scholarship honors Garfield High School graduate, local businessman and community leader Bernie Minsk. Though preference is given to seniors attending Garfield High School, any senior currently working with Rainier Scholars may apply for this renewable scholarship of $2,000 to $10,000. Application on: SurveyMonkey Apply

Bob and Maggie Bergman Scholarship

The purpose of the Bob and Maggie Bergman Scholarship is to honor and to give financial support to deserving seniors currently enrolled at Quilcene High School. Two year and four year awards are available, ranging from $1,000 to $3,000 dollars. Application on: Quilcene-Brinnon Dollars for Scholars

C. E. Boucher Memorial Scholarship 

This scholarship was established to honor and support engineering students studying at University of Washington, Washington State University, University of Oregon, and Oregon State University. This is a one-time scholarship for $3,000 dollars. Application on: Scholarship America

Dominic and Jessie Vitulli Scholarship 

The Dominic and Jessie Vitulli Scholarship supports graduates of Bothell High School in Bothell, Washington, who are enrolled full time at an accredited 4-year college or university in the state of Washington. A scholarship may cover up to fifty percent (50%) of the annual tuition to attend their selected institution. The intent of the scholarship is to encourage and assist students who demonstrate financial need, the potential to succeed, motivation and overall “well-roundedness.” Academic achievement is not a primary consideration in awarding the Dominic and Jessie Vitulli Scholarship. Application on: SurveyMonkey Apply

Doug Struthers Memorial Scholarship 

Doug Struthers taught at Alexander Graham Bell Elementary in the Lake Washington School District for more than two decades. His hard work, commitment and perseverance made a difference in the school and the community. This scholarship fund was created in his memory to help young people learn skills to serve their communities. Four Lake Washington School District students every year are chosen to receive this $5,000 renewable scholarship. Application on: Scholarship America

Doyne M. Green Scholarship (Graduate Studies) 

Supporting female graduate students of medicine, law, social service, or public service, this scholarship assists current graduate students who study at public universities in the State of Washington with a renewable $4,000 scholarship. Application on: Scholarship America

Gjurasic Family Foundation Scholarship

The purpose of The Gjurasic Family Foundation Scholarship is to honor the roots of the Gjurasic family through supporting post-secondary students at the University of Washington’s College of the Built Environment. The award is up to $5,000 per academic year, and students may reapply. The total amount may be awarded to one or divided among several students.  Eligible expenses include college tuition and books. Application on: SurveyMonkey Apply

Greater Seattle (WA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated Scholarship

The Greater Seattle (WA) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated was established in 1955 with a commitment to enriching, sustaining, and ensuring the identities, culture, and economic survival of African-Americans and persons of African descent. Scholarships will be awarded to qualified high school seniors of African American descent who reside in King, Snohomish, Kitsap, Clallum and Jefferson counties, are U.S. citizens and demonstrate exemplary leadership in their family, school and the African American Community. Greater Seattle (WA) Chapter of The Links, Supplemental Scholarship

The Greater Seattle (WA) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated was established in 1955 with a commitment to enriching, sustaining, and ensuring the identities, culture, and economic survival of African-Americans and persons of African descent. The Supplemental Support Scholarship is for college students in need of tuition assistance or who have basic or urgent need for financial support. Application on: SurveyMonkey Apply

Hawkins Memorial Scholarship 

The purpose of this scholarship is to honor and to give financial support to graduating seniors currently enrolled at Lake Stevens High School who are pursuing a course of study in life sciences, medicine or pharmacy. Preference will be given to students attending the University of Washington. Scholarship awards up to $1,500 and is renewable for up to 4 years. Application to be released by December 1 on Survey Monkey Apply. 

Lambeth Family Scholarship 

This scholarship, designed to honor and financially support students pursuing a degree in engineering, natural sciences, mathematics, computer science or business, supports high school seniors in Washington State who will study at a public university, community college or technical school. This scholarship varies from $1,000 to $3,000 and is renewable for up to 4 years. Application on: Scholarship America

Linkous Foundation Scholarship Richland and Hanford 

These scholarships, created in memory of Gary L. Linkous (Columbia High School, Class of 1955) supports students enrolled in High Schools in Richland and Hanford. Scholarship amount varies. Contact us for more information: scholarships@seattlefoundation.org.  

Nora Stone Smith Scholarship 

The Nora Stone Smith Scholarship honors and gives financial support to deserving immigrant high school seniors and students who have graduated in the past year and have participated in an ESL/ELL program at some point in their lives. This scholarship is available for all ESL/ELL students, regardless of their citizenship status. Undocumented students are encouraged to apply. This scholarship ranges from $1,000 – $2,000 renewable for 2 or 4 years. Application to be released by December 1 on Survey Monkey Apply

Pat Hatmaker Memorial Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide a one-time college scholarship award to graduating seniors from Issaquah High School. The award can be used for tuition, room & board (limited to on campus housing i.e. dorms, fraternities & sororities or other student housing recognized by the college or university) books and supplies and lab and other class fees. Patricia Fisher Endowed Scholarship

Established to honor Patricia Fisher, a Puget Sound native, journalist, educator and role model, this scholarship was established by the Seattle Association of Black Journalists to support students of African descent who pursue college careers in journalism. This one-time scholarship ranges from $500-$2,500. Application to be released by December 1 on Survey Monkey Apply

PSBJ’s Women of Influence – Lytle Enterprises Scholarship (Graduate Studies) 

The Puget Sound Business Journal and Chuck and Karen Lytle joined forces to create the Puget Sound Business Journal’s Women of Influence-Lytle Enterprises Scholarship Fund.  To be a Woman of Influence, students must evidence not only leadership and achievement in business and in the community, but also be a mentor to other women.  This scholarship will enable a woman of potential to develop her leadership and business acumen in a local graduate school of business. In addition to providing $7,500 financial support toward the scholarship winner’s education, the members of our stellar and prestigious Women of Influence advisory board will make themselves available to mentor her, providing her with a truly powerful launching pad. Application on: SurveyMonkey Apply.

Reita Cruze Scholarship 

The purpose of the Reita Cruze Scholarship is to honor and give financial support to deserving high school seniors. Two scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $7,500 will be awarded to students pursuing a career in the business world and who intend to attend a college or university within WA State. Preference given to students who intend to attend one of the five universities listed here: Seattle University, University of Washington, Washington State University, Western Washington University, Central Washington University. Applicants must be a dependent or child of a Boeing employee who is on the active payroll and has been with Boeing for a minimum of five years. Application on: Survey Monkey Apply.

The Stanley Ann Dunham Scholarship Fund

The Stanley Ann Dunham Scholarship Fund awards multiple $5,000 college scholarships to female-identifying students enrolled in the graduating senior class at Mercer Island High School (MIHS), Chief Sealth International High School (CSIHS), and Rainier Beach High School (RBHS). Students should demonstrate commitment to the values and goals embodied in the life and work of Dr. Stanley Ann Dunham, a 1960 Mercer Island High School graduate, anthropologist, and mother of the 44th President of the United States of America, Barack H. Obama, and Dr. Maya Soetoro-Ng. Deadline is March 31, 2022 and the application is available here. For more information, contact info@stanleyanndunhamfund.org.

The Theresa Earenfight Liberation History Scholarship

The purpose of the The Theresa Earenfight Liberation History Scholarship is to support undergrad or graduate students who are passionate about the intersection of social justice and animal welfare within a historical context. This is a $10,000 annual scholarship renewable through the completion of the student’s degree, assuming the student continues to meet the eligibility criteria. The scholarship may be applied to tuition and fees, or other academic expenses payable to the college or university. Application on: SurveyMonkey Apply

Seahawks Players’ Equality & Justice For All Scholarship

Seahawks players, the Seahawks Players’ Equality & Justice for All Scholarship Fund aims to build a more compassionate and inclusive society by supporting career opportunities for students who have overcome significant adversary. Preference will be given to students of color and first-generation college students.
This fund will not be hosting an application cycle in 2022.

Walter H. Meyer – Garry L. White Memorial Scholarship (Undergraduate or Graduate Studies) 

This $5,000 scholarship is available to non-traditional students working towards an undergraduate (must be over 24 years old) or graduate (must be over 30 years old) degree.  Application on: Scholarship America

West Coast Paper

The purpose of this scholarship is to honor and to give financial support for higher education to West Coast Paper Company employees and their immediate family. One scholarship of $10,000 will be award, with potential for renewal based on student’s academic performance. Application on: SurveyMonkey Apply 

Yuri and Tatsuo Nakata Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to honor and to give financial support to students of Asian heritage currently enrolled at Roosevelt, Cleveland, or Franklin High School in Seattle, WA. This $2,500 scholarship can be used for public and private universities and colleges across the country. Application to be released by December 1 on Survey Monkey Apply.
