This internship is designed to provide a student at JCCC practical experience working to promote sustainability-related events and work on campus. Activities will include marketing of sustainability-related programming and recruitment of peers to sustainability leadership roles.
Participate in event planning with student life (others) to facilitate sustainability in all aspects of their events, and offer support for recycling and composting at events when needed.
Marketing reuse through ROSE store and surplus postings.

Job Duties
Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • 1. Evaluate county, city, and non-profit webpages and social media to identify upcoming sustainability-related events.
  • 2. Learn from current and identify possible new partners in sustainability work across campus and region.
  • 3. Share and cross-promote relevant events at least a week in advance.
  • 4. Create sustainability-related content to engage our social media audience.
  • 5. Help plan student events to be sustainable, educate your peers on sustainable options and resources available though the Center for Sustainability.
  • 6. Share items for reuse to the campus at large, keep track of claimed items, and prepare them for delivery
  • 7. Read JCCC List daily for postings about sustainability-related questions and reply.
