The College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment (CFWE) at Auburn University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant/associate professor level in tree physiology/ecophysiology with an expected start date of January 1, 2023. This is a full time, tenure track, 9-month appointment with 65% research and 35% teaching responsibilities. The CFWE is a national leader for forestry, wildlife, natural resource management, geospatial and environmental informatics, and biomaterial and packaging education, research, and outreach. Responsibilities: The successful applicant will be expected to establish an extramurally funded, innovative research program focused on physiological response to climate, forest management, and environmental stress factors at a variety of scales (tree, forest, landscape). Applicants will also be expected to teach two undergraduate courses (Tree Physiology, Forest Biology) each year and one graduate course in the applicant’s specialty in alternate years, or as needed by the curricula. This position also has the opportunity to serve as Director of long-term regional research program on seedling production and stand establishment. Additional responsibilities include recruiting and mentoring graduate students, and participating in college and university service.
