Salary– $36,804.00 – $48,996.00 Annually

Responsibilities:
You will be entrusted with an array of responsibilities including the following:

  • Provide technical support to Land Managers and District Manager on DNR’s custom database systems including but not limited to data entry and retrieval, financial accounting, customer and authorization information, and development of reports.
  • Route and track documents through internal review process.
  • Administer and/or collaborate with the Office Assistant and other team members on procedures for reviewing standard land record documents, such as insurance certificates, financial security documents, and document recording procedures.
  • Assist the district staff by preparing documents and reports related to aquatic land use contracts.
  • Receive public inquiries regarding the use and management of SOAL. Respond to and provide technical information regarding aquatic programs policies and guidelines. Provide materials and instructions on how to apply for use of SOAL.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Experience with managing records and files.
  • Experience with understanding, interpreting and enforcing contract terms.
  • Experience with working within a team.
  • Experience interpreting laws, regulations and policies pertaining to management of aquatic land.
  • Proficient at using computers and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and GIS.
  • Proficient at speaking, writing and reporting clearly and effectively.
  • Must be 18 and possess a high school diploma or a GED at time of hire.
  • This position will be required to obtain and/or maintain a Washington State Notary License with remote and electronic notary endorsement upon hire.

  • Travel may be required to locations within the District or Olympia. Most travel is by car. Most travel requires less than two concurrent nights away. Overnight travel is unusual but may occur.
  • Employees of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. This position is based in an office/fieldwork setting and requires in-person attendance/interactions with no option for full-time telework. Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with insurance, securities, budget tracking, invoicing, and accounts receivable.
  • Proficient at using an accounting or contract management system, such as NaturE and Salesforce.
  • Experience with recognizing land uses and potential land uses.
  • Experience working with leases or other legal contracts and ability to understand interpret and enforce contract terms such as rent, insurance and financial security requirements.
  • Experience in negotiating leases.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations and policies pertaining to management of state-owned aquatic lands.
