RESEARCH SCIENTIST, Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE)-Concrete Sustainability Hub (CSHub), to work alongside the CSHub directors to lead a diverse group of researchers whose expertise spans the fields of science, engineering, and economics. Will ensure that the research portfolio progresses in a timely manner and that research is communicated in an impactful way; lead the systems research and implementation within the MIT CSHub Program; carry out state-of-the-art research into the economic and environmental impact of cement, concrete, and concrete systems; recruit, hire, and coordinate a diverse group of student and postdoctoral researchers whose expertise spans the fields of science, engineering, and economics; coordinate the publication of CSHub research into reports and scholarly publications; oversee resource budgeting, accounting, and spending; and serve as a public face of the program by presenting at meetings and events.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Ph.D. in science or engineering field; track record of scholarly activity in the area of industrial ecology or systems engineering; three years’ related experience in academia/industry and record of scholarship, preferably in sustainability, resilience, or similar field; experience managing research teams in academia/industry; proven consulting skills; ability to coordinate, manage, and conduct research within the CSHub and CEE and MIT communities; record of publications and presentations at scientific meetings; ability to manage multiple objectives/tasks and meet competing deadlines; AND excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
