Salary– $2,612.00 – $3,370.00 Monthly

Our Water Access Technician,

  • Operation of utility trucks, power washers, various saws, ATVs, pumps, cameras, herbicide application equipment, and similar equipment.
  • Assist the Access Manager with technical natural resource tasks on access sites and monitors each site for deficiencies. 
  • Using Integrated Pest Management (IPM), monitors for and treats noxious weeds by spraying, hand pulling, and/or mowing with ATV mower, weed trimmer, pruners and chain saw to suppress or remove vegetation while wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Maintaining a variety of power equipment including power washers, weed trimmers, and mowers.
  • Independently maintains water access facilities, such as vault toilets, pathways, and parking areas, to ensure areas remain safe and in good working order.
  • Responsible for safe vehicle and trailer operation and reports any mechanical issues to access manager for appropriate repairs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work Setting, including hazards:
    1. Work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrain.
  • Schedule:
    1. 10 hours/day Monday – Thursday.
  • Travel Requirements:
    1. May travel up to 90% of the day.
  • Tools and Equipment:
    1. Various hand and power tools. Utility truck, trailer, ATVs, and various mowers.
  • Customer Interactions:
    1. There will be frequent customer interaction, mostly in higher-use access areas.

 

Qualifications

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School graduation or GED AND three (3) months of natural resource related labor experience.

OR  

  • One (1) year as a Natural Resource Worker 1.
    1. (Natural Resource Worker 1 – Definition: Under close supervision and as a member of an organized crew, performs unskilled forest, agriculture, and/or aquatic land management labor.)

Please Note: College course work involving major study in biology, zoology, fisheries, chemistry, natural sciences, or closely allied field will substitute, year for year, for experience, provided the course work includes at least six semester or nine quarter hours of natural science classes. 

License:

  • Valid driver’s license.
