Call for Contributions for an edited volume about Multidisciplinary Approaches to the Global Climate Movement

***We have extended our call for contributions to April 22, 2022***

The contemporary climate movement is a multifaceted global phenomenon whereby political actors, in a variety of different contexts, are demanding transformation of societies in response to the climate crisis. Its main protagonists and its social and political impacts have attracted scholarly interest from a variety of disciplines, most prominently from within the social sciences (sociology, anthropology, political science), but also from the humanities, and even the creative arts. In this volume we aim to find answers to key questions through multidisciplinary lenses: Where is the climate movement now? What are the boundaries of the climate movement? What do climate activists do, and how do they define what they are doing? What visions of societal transformation are climate movement actors articulating in different contexts? How do we study these questions through the perspectives provided by different disciplines? What is our role as variously positioned scholars as the climate crisis continues to unfold?
