Salary- $56,856.00 – $76,416.00 Annually

Responsibilities:

  • Develop relationships with cooperators and DNR staff to meet training needs and impact wildland fire management capacity in Eastern Washington.
  • Coordinate and monitor the wildland fire training program for Fire Service and cooperating Agencies.
  • Support, track, and update interagency agreements.
  • Coordinate and instruct NWCG, refresher, and operator safety trainings.
  • Maintain, audit and certify training records for over 2,500 fire district, department, WDFW, State Parks and other cooperators.
  • Issue Red Cards and maintain fire records for firefighting personnel.
  • Coordinate Interagency Qualification Peer Review Committees.
  • Provide oversight of MOU agreements related to red carding and qualification records.
  • Coordinate Fire District Assistance program and agreements within Southeast Region.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge and implementation of 310-1 and 901-1
  • Professional communication skills
  • Working knowledge of IROC and IQS
  • Knowledge and execution of MOUs and Agreements
  • Must possess a current NWCG qualification in one or more of the following areas: single resource boss level or higher, PSC3/2/1, FSC3/2/1, LSC3/2/1, IADP, ACDP, CORD, EDSP, TNSP, HRSP.
  • Experience instructing and coordinating NWCG certified trainings
  • The incumbent in this position is required to travel.
  • A valid driver’s license and have two years of driving experience. This position requires driving as an essential function. Finalists and/or interview candidates may be asked to provide a driving record from all states in which they have held a license during the past three years.
