REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Parks Planner 4 – 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a majority of course studies in landscape architecture, park resource planning, land use planning or other closely related fields of study.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in park and recreational facility design, landscape design, plan development and public testimony and facilitation.*
  • Valid unrestricted (except for corrective lenses) driver’s license.

*Graduate training in the above fields may be substituted, year for year, for a maximum of two years of the required experience.

Parks Planner 3 – 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a majority of course studies in landscape architecture, park resource planning, land use planning or other closely related fields of study.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience in park and recreational facility design, landscape design, plan development and public testimony and facilitation.*
  • Valid unrestricted (except for corrective lenses) driver’s license.

*Graduate training in the above fields may be substituted, year for year, for a maximum of one year of the required experience.

Parks Planner 2 – 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a majority of course studies in landscape architecture, park resource planning, land use planning or other closely related fields of study.
  • One (1) year of professional experience in park and recreational facility design, landscape design, plan development and public testimony and facilitation.*
  • Valid unrestricted (except for corrective lenses) driver’s license.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Registration as a Landscape Architect in the State of Washington.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Low Impact Development.
  • Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) accreditation.
  • Knowledge of and experience with design and rendering software (AutoCAD, Sketchup, Shaderlight, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite etc.)

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Must be willing to travel as needed to accomplish assignments.  Overnight travel is a requirement.
