Aspect Consulting, LLC (Aspect), an earth science and engineering consulting firm, is seeking an entry-level geologist or engineer to join our growing Environmental Practice in our Seattle, Washington office.

Aspect’s Environmental Practice tackles challenges on a variety of complex environmental projects all over the Northwest: environmental site assessments, remedial investigations/feasibility studies, property cleanup and urban redevelopments, remedial design engineering, cost recovery/allocation/mediation support, and landfill system monitoring and optimization (Check out the Project Case Studies on our website). As a strong candidate, you will exhibit characteristics that form the foundation of a successful environmental consultant and show potential for growth and career advancement. Some of these characteristics include an inquisitive and can‑do mentality, proactiveness, self-motivation, an eye for detail, excellent organization skills, clear writing and communication skills, and an interest in pursuing a license in geology or engineering.

As an entry-level geologist or engineer at Aspect, you will work outdoors in all weather conditions, and in rugged and sometimes remote field locations for extended periods of time. You also can expect to work directly with geologists, environmental engineers, and scientists to learn core skills and how to effectively apply environmental consulting strategies and solutions for our clients, who include attorneys, land owners, public agencies, engineers, and contractors.

Your initial primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Conduct field activities at contaminated sites: environmental drilling, soil logging and sampling, well installation and development, groundwater sampling and aquifer testing, excavation monitoring and construction oversight, environmental monitoring, and soil gas sampling.

  • Manage and oversee subcontractor(s) work on site.

  • Compile and analyze data. Prepare hydrographs, graphical representations of water quality and subsurface conditions (e.g., geologic cross-sections, contamination maps), and develop site-specific conceptual models.

  • Operations and maintenance of soil, groundwater, and landfill gas remediation systems.

  • Prepare field reports and write technical reports.

Our Environmental Practice is supported by a diverse and talented group of engineering geologists, geotechnical engineers, hydrogeologists, water resource engineers, CAD/GIS professionals, and technical editors who support each other across practices on multidisciplinary projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • A degree in engineering or geology

  • Geologist-in-Training (GIT) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification (or eligible to complete upon hire)

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills

  • Clear writing and communication skills

  • Knowledge of soil classification standards

  • Experience with 3-dimensional visualization software is a plus!

Special Requirements

  • Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions, and in rugged and sometimes remote field locations for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to travel long distances and accommodate occasional overnight travel. Travel is often in greater Puget Sound area and central Washington.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license be able to operate cars, vans, and pickup trucks in various weather conditions and after dark.
