This series runs Tuesdays, 6 pm – 8:30 pm, 10/5 – 11/30 (except 11/23) and offers an engaging format through virtual learning via Zoom.

Participants will learn skills including best practices in waste reduction and waste diversion through proper recycling, composting systems.

Sessions will also  include resources for  tips on how to best share what you’ve learned and talk through issues so others will listen! Community volunteering opportunities will be available for those interested.

Cost: $40* All requests for financial assistance will be honored. Suggested donations are payable via Eventbrite.

This training is perfect for anyone that would like to:

  • Achieve a foundation level of understanding of climate change, impacts and solutions
  • Increase knowledge of their personal carbon footprint and ways to reduce it
  • Feel empowered / inspired to be part of their community
  • This training teaches you the nuances of recycling, making you a local recycling expert.

Training content is grounded in credible climate change and natural resources science that is relevant both globally, and locally within Snohomish County, designed to equip each participant as an informed community educator. Participants will receive 20+ hours of University-level training during this engaging 8-week series. (No previous university education required.)

Our WSU Waste Warrior Training series covers the main topics relating to proper recycling, waste reduction and composting and runs 5 – Tuesdays, 10/19 – 11/9 + 11/30 in partnership with our Sustainable community Stewards training. All virtual via Zoom.
