Description

The West Virginia University’s Division of Forestry and Natural Resources (WVU DFNR) is seeking applicants to fill a Graduate Research Assistant position at Ph.D. level in Advanced Biomaterials and Products, available in January 2022.

Qualifications

We are looking for motivated applicants with good work ethic, who are interested in participating in multidisciplinary research projects. Students with a background in the following disciplines are encouraged to apply:

✓ MS in wood science and technology, wood engineering, material sciences, or related sciences with strong background in engineering,

✓ Demonstrated knowledge in wood processing, wood modification, timber structures,

✓ Knowledge in computation, modeling, statistics and experimental design,

✓ Background in additive manufacturing of biomaterials will be an asset

✓ Experience in running wood working machinery, material testing equipment, life cycle analysis,

✓ Strong communication skills

✓ Team worker, high level of intellectual curiosity, and can work independently.

✓ International students must have acceptable TOEFL scores or equivalent.
