Position

The Habitat Restoration Program Coordinator will work directly under the supervision of CRCL’s Restoration Programs Director to build support for coastal restoration by providing opportunities for volunteers to participate in on-the-ground habitat restoration. The HRP Coordinator will lead the planning and execution of coastwide events engaging 400+ annually.

Responsibilities

The Habitat Restoration Program Coordinator has the following responsibilities, under the direct supervision of the Restoration Programs Director:

  • Plan and execute 20-35 volunteer restoration project days annually;
  • Identify potential project sites and partners including landowners, state/federal agencies, local governments, private foundations, and NGO’s;
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with community partners and volunteer bases;
  • Coordinate logistics, equipment, and personnel prior to volunteer events;
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and recognize the contributions of CRCL volunteers;
  • Maintain contact with volunteers to send thanks, share pictures, and solicit survey participation after events;
  • Ensure events provide safe, positive, and high-quality volunteer experiences;
  • Work alongside CRCL’s Outreach and Engagement teams to maintain volunteer database and metrics;
  • Prepare and present project data and GIS maps for outreach and reporting purposes;
  • Work with CRCL’s Communications team to promote the program thru website and social media content;
  • Represent CRCL at stakeholder meetings, conferences, and outreach events;
  • Participate in the planning of CRCL’s biennial State of the Coast conference, and assist with other special events, workshops, field trips, and other duties as assigned;
  • Work with the Restoration Programs Director to monitor past planting projects;
  • Help develop proposals, define budgets and identify timeframes for grant funding expenditure;
  • Support organization-wide fundraising efforts and special campaigns;
  • Develop and oversee contracts with project partners to ensure successful execution;
  • Support Restore the Mississippi River Delta coalition campaigns, including but not limited to contributing to outreach efforts and serving on the Projects Committee to evaluate coastwide restoration priorities;
  • Prepare and present HRP briefing materials to CRCL staff and the Board of Directors.
  • Support other CRCL-related programming as needed (including annual Stewardship Awards celebration, State of the Coast conference, fundraising events, etc.).
