Work by the ocean! Carlsbad Aquafarm is looking for an educated tour guide to facilitate our exclusive Farm Tour & Oyster Tasting experiences.

This is a fun and busy role with opportunities for growth in the Marine Aquaculture industry.

The ideal candidate is a student or graduate looking to further their experience and knowledge of Marine Biology, Aquaculture and/or Sustainable Farming.

Applicants must be in good physical condition and prepared to work a full day outdoors. Must have reliable transportation. Customer service experience is a plus, but not required.

Applicants must be able to work both Saturdays and Sundays. Minimum 16 hours per week, with opportunities for full-time hours for suitable candidates.

In-house training provided.

Duties include:

• Educate guests on the techniques and equipment used to support the growth and harvesting of Oysters and Mussels.
• Educate guests on the local wildlife and how sustainable farming protects the natural ecosystem.
• Lead oyster shucking classes and host tasting events.
• Answer customer phone calls and reply to enquiries.
• Fulfill Farm Pick-Up orders.
• General cleaning and maintenance.
• Opportunities to support hands-on farming duties and bivalve hatchery procedures.
