The Opportunity:
The Environmental Manager will be responsible for maintaining an effective environmental management program to comply with regulations for air, water, solid waste, hazardous waste, right-to-know and other applicable regulations.
How you will impact WestRock:
This individual will be involved in a variety of management and leadership activities including but not limited to:
- Establish and maintain programs for compliance with applicable state and federal regulations regarding air, water, solid waste, hazardous waste, and other areas.
- Work with departments to develop methods for cost effective, and long-term improvement of the environment.
- Build partnerships with facility leadership and personnel to maintain successful environmental management systems and compliance.
- Evaluate and establish controls for facility.
- Develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with state and federal environmental agencies.
- Review capital project plans and perform permit applicability assessments for applicable projects.
- Support oversight for operation of effluent treatment system.
- Perform technical research and special projects.

Experience/Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Science or Engineering, with at least 7+ years or related professional experience.
