Duties

The Administrative Services Program’s mission is to provide quality customer service and asset management to meet the agency’s current and future needs so that environmental goals and strategic priorities are met.

Some of the key work activities of the Emergency Management and Sustainability Analyst include:

  • Maintains and enhances Ecology’s emergency management and Continuation of Operations Plan (COOP) capabilities and plans.
  • Supports Ecology’s sustainability efforts, specifically pertaining to Ecology’s Sustainability Team, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from facilities and fleet operations, and efforts by the State Efficiency and Energy Performance Office.
  • Acts as the Agency Transportation Officer and is responsible for fleet management at Ecology including planning for fleet increase and reductions, reducing fleet fuel consumption by incorporating Electric Vehicles (EVs) and increasing CTR participation by employees.  

This position will have the opportunity to promote quality change in a variety of areas. It will assist the Administrative Services Division by helping lead the agencies emergency management and COOP operations, facility and fleet emissions efforts, and to meet GHG goals. It will have the opportunity to work across the entire agency and collaborate with a multitude of individuals and teams. This position will assist in a wide variety of subject areas and will have the opportunity to focus on different areas throughout the year.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

There are multiple ways to qualify for this position. See options below:

Option 1: 

A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, health administration, law, environmental law, finance, economics, statistics, environmental management, environmental or public policy or a related field AND Four (4) years of experience providing senior level professional analyses to management, staff, and customers regarding complex issues that impact programs and policies.

Option 2: 
 
Master’s degree in one of the fields listed above AND three (3) years of experience providing senior level professional analyses to management, staff, and customers regarding complex issues that impact programs and policies. 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with or knowledge of alternative modes of transportation including bicycling, walking, carpooling, vanpooling, public transit and electric vehicles. 
  • One year supervisory or lead experience. 
  • Experience with or knowledge of Emergency Management and Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP).
