HireArt is helping The World’s Largest Social Network hire an evening-shift Environmental Technician. In this role, you’ll be responsible for routine environmental inspections and  the maintenance and operation of water treatment systems.

We’re seeking an Environmental Technician who is experienced in operating water treatment systems. You also maintain excellent attention to detail, and are comfortable operating computer programs and performing data entry.

As Environmental Technician, you will: 

  • Maintain elementary neutralization wastewater treatment systems to include routine inspections, operations, response to alarms, monitoring, filling neutralization chemical, and ordering supplies.
  • Conduct routine inspections for environmental pollution control devices to include, but not limited to spill containment, air pollution devices, wastewater systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections for stormwater and SPCC (Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure) program.
  • Serve as an active member of the emergency spill response team.
  • Collect water samples from raw, semi-processed, or processed water, industrial wastewater for analysis.
  • Inspect and maintain data collection system on wastewater treatment units, and maintains data collection instrumentation
  • Conduct site-wide chemical inventory.
  • Operate light and heavy equipment including, but not limited to pumps, vacuum equipment, and oil spill equipment.
  • Perform basic calculations and computer data entry, and prepare and maintains necessary reports and records, as required
  • Support cross-functional teams to implement and administer environmental programs, procedures, and practices.
  • Partner and collaborate with business and operations management.
Requirements
  • Willingness to work evening shifts
  • Associates degree in chemistry, environmental or relevant scientific field
  • Experience performing environmental technician work, including operating water treatment systems
  • Computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to lift 45 pounds
  • 3+ years of wastewater operator experience preferred

Commitment: This is a full-time (40 hours per week), 1-year contract position staffed via HireArt and based in Seattle, WA.
