Description:

  • Manages and directs duties of assigned personnel, including recruitment, retention, onboarding, evaluations, development, and disciplinary actions.
  • Develops coherent campus and community-wide sustainability programs by coordinating academic, research, operations, student, and community sustainability activities. Implements new programming to increase the institutional diversion rate. Read and comprehend blueprints and CAD Drawing.
  • Coordinates and compiles data for various ongoing sustainability tracking programs and tracks performance metrics to assess program effectiveness.
  • Facilitates relationship building with campus community; bridges and builds trust, partnership, community, and action. 10%
  • Oversees expenditures for various accounts, including state funds, revenue funds, student activity funds, and Foundation funds. Facilitates the sustainability fee committee.
  • Writes grant proposals associated with new projects in sustainability and writes reports assessing the success of said grants.
  • Advises Sr. Director on developing and implementing roadmap for energy, water, food, and grounds. Supports peers in development of waste impact areas. Keeps abreast of ongoing issues, trends, solutions, and best practices for projects in higher learning. Assists in defining sustainability goals.
  • Excellent customer service. In addition to “other duties as assigned”, this position may be required to be cross-trained for another position and/or responsibility in order to provide both back-up for a department as well as to supplement resources needed during certain times of the year.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s’ degree and two years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift 35 pounds.
  • Flexible schedule to include nights and weekends.
  • Advanced MS Office experience.
  • LEED Green Associate Certification
  • Familiar with Green Building Certifications
  • Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills for a variety of audiences.
  • Previous analytical analysis experience in regard to sustainability and recycling.
  • Previous experience in presenting research and ideas to a broad variety of constituents.
  • Previous grant writing experience.
  • Physical Requirements: Extended standing, walking, ability to bend, stoop, reach and climb ladders.
