Summary of Duties

There are 5 seasonal laborer positions available within the Public Works Noxious Weed and Lakes program. The primary responsibility of these positions is to perform weed control on County rights-of-way and assist with weed control projects in other aquatic and non-aquatic environments.  These positions will also perform other assigned general labor duties, which would include, but would not be limited to the use of maps to track routes and workload, as well as operate assigned equipment such as:

· Hand tools such as shovels and rakes
· Weed eater
· Herbicide application equipment
PLEASE NOTE: 
These positions are expected to start at the beginning of June 2021 and run through early fall September 2021. Timelines may be refined as the work dictates.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous experience in one or more of the following areas: agriculture, forestry and/or invasive species control.
  • Experience working in areas with exposure to traffic.
  • Must have a current Washington State driver’s license.
Desired Skills
  • A candidate projecting a positive public image under stressful situations is preferred.
  • The ability to work well with others.
