  • Support strategic planning process and program of work development.

  • Project management of existing and future DTC projects.

  • Research and data/information gathering to inform the coalition of trails and recreation issues, background, history, and best practices.  This may include a range of requests from the coalition, for example, from interest in a framework of research and theory to an assessment of methods of trail use measurement.

  • Be an advocate of coalition’s initiatives.

  • Support marketing, outreach and branding work.

    • Developing and implementing DTC meeting agendas and undertaking necessary follow-up.

    • Managing subcommittees or working groups within the overall DTC structure.

    • Maintaining notes, records, and documentation for the DTC.

    • Coordinating and contributing to fundraising efforts, including grant writing and reporting.

Required Personal Attributes & Professional Skills:

  • Goal-driven and committed to following through on all tasks.

  •  Community engagement experience.

  •  Ability to motivate individuals with excellent communication skills, strong relationship-building abilities, and a natural talent to lead.

  •  Understanding of the relationship between recreation, natural resources and resource use.

  •  Personal integrity, initiative, and foresight.

  • Ability to maintain a positive and productive rapport with members of the coalition, the public, and professional associates.

  •  Ability to manage group processes.

  •  Ability to think critically, solve problems creatively, and adapt to change.

  • Personal integrity and commitment to avoiding conflicts of interest.

  • Knowledge of G Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, audio/visual presentation equipment, and other project management tools.

  • Familiarity with natural resource issues and commonly used natural resource terminology.

The DTC is a growing collaborative organization.  As such, this position is necessarily fluid in development and the successful candidate will be able to embrace uncertainty, enjoy innovation, and carry their passion for trails forward so that we may all enjoy a sustainable trails program in Central Oregon.
