Facilitate Nooksack River Steward Programming – Estimated 90% of time
- Educate and engage recreators on salmon ecology and recovery efforts through guided river walks, docent stations, and Salmon Sighting events
- Engage community audiences in salmon- and locally-themed stories and activities
- Lead, educate, and engage volunteers in environmental restoration efforts
- Develop creative multimedia outreach materials
Program Planning and Professional Development – Estimated 10% of time
- Work collaboratively with fellow interns to plan and organize for upcoming needs
- Attend professional development workshops to gain skills in a variety of chosen topics
- Assist with facility needs
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- 18 years or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Dependable with strong passion for NSEA’s mission, environmental education, stewardship, and outreach
- Able to work independently and on a team
- Willingness to work in mostly outdoor and some office settings throughout term
- Available Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays throughout term
- Available on June 25, 26, and 27 and September 17 and 18
Position is contingent on funding and public health related regulations. Final offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check that may include employment history, national criminal background check, national sex offender registry search and a driving check.
