Seasonal field technicians for Environmental Consulting Firm
(North Seattle)
Raedeke Associates, Inc. has an immediate need for two temporary, entry-level field technicians. We are a small, employee-owned Environmental Consulting firm located in the Northgate area of north Seattle. The positions are non-exempt hourly and expected to be full time for four to six weeks during the summer of 2021. We offer free parking with
easy access to many local services.
Summary of Duties:
The successful candidates will demonstrate ability to conduct field assessment and collect data in managed young forest plantations in King and Pierce Counties for evidence of bear damage.
This is physically demanding work that requires traversing very rugged terrain. Applicants must have a fitness level that prepares them for long, strenuous days in the field.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in plant ecology, wildlife, or related fields
- Two years of experience in forest and wildlife habitat field studies
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience driving on forestry roads, and navigating their hazards, such as large potholes, plant growth encroaching on roads, and washouts.
- Ability to navigate rugged, steep, and densely vegetated terrain using pdf maps and/or a map and compass
Compensation
- Wage rate is competitive and commensurate with experience
