With that in mind, 

Picture yourself being responsible for the development and implementation of the WDFW Business Solutions roadmap, leading strategic IT initiatives, architecture, and new technology approvals.

This is an opportunity to perform full scope business and requirements analysis duties for a variety of high-visibility IT Projects that impact the entire WDFW Agency.

Our IT Project Manager & Consulting Specialist,

  • Acts as a project manager to coordinate, document, manage and complete projects for ITS.
  • Participates in the determination of project requirements using WDFW Enterprise Architecture Framework considerations.
  • Facilitates and leads business and technical requirements gathering sessions.
  • Leads business process by re-engineering activities.
  • Works with customers to sell IT Service offerings and sets reasonable expectations for service delivery.
  • Confidently and persuasively presents information both formally and informally to staff, supervisors, and executive management.
  • Maintains customer enthusiasm while interpreting and simplifying their needs into manageable/executable expectations.
  • Thinks strategically and steers the conversation with customers away from common objection points towards productive and continuous process improvements.
  • Influences consensus on streamlined processes to reduced manual labor, enhance records governance, and sustain an ease of access and availability in line with the Agency Data Management strategy.

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • Work Setting, including hazards     
    1. Duties are performed in an office setting.
    2. This position requires extensive computer use and sitting.
    3. Teleworking options are available.
  • Schedule:
    1. Monday – Friday – 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    2. A varied schedule may be required including working weekends and overtime during peak periods, system implementations, maintenance, and outages.
  • Travel Requirements     
    1. Some travel may be required throughout the State to attend trainings, meetings, and conferences.
  • Tools and Equipment              
    1. Laptop Computer.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Computer Science, Information Technology, Marketing, Economics or Business Management.

          OR

  • Four (4) years of Information Technology experience such as consulting, analyzing, designing, marketing, programming, installing and/or maintaining computer software applications, hardware, telecommunications, network infrastructure equipment, directing projects, providing customer or technical support in information technology or enterprise solution architecture.

AND 

  • Two (2) years of professional and/or academic experience managing IT projects using proven project management processes, tools, and techniques.

AND

  • Must undergo a background check which includes fingerprinting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Project Management Certification such as:
    1. Project Management Professional (PMP)
    2. Program Management Professional (PgMP)
    3. Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP)
    4. CompTIA Project +
  • Demonstrated experience presenting project artifacts.
  • Experience with low code development such as DAX and M for Power BI and proprietary function language for PowerApps.
  • Excellent communication skills (questioning, educating, fact-finding, persuading, negotiating, resolving, summarizing, and active listening).
  • Ability to interact effectively with others across a broad spectrum of managerial, administrative, and professional staff.

Knowledge of:

  • Software development methodologies and life cycle.
  • Project management functions such as planning, scope development, schedule management, resource management, budget management, communications management, risk management, change management and incident management.
  • Project management and business analysis best practices.
  • Principles and practices of product effective project documentation including business functions, desk manuals, and configuration documentation.
  • Structured process improvement framework methodologies such as LEAN and ITIL.
  • Methods of developing business process specifications – procedures and methods for testing business functions for technology solutions.
  • Current trends in information technology software, business systems, hardware, networks, and communications.
