Having the ability to provide concise detailed work order task information, asset update documentation and email updates to supervision. We expect you to accept ownership of the equipment and systems you maintain, identify reliability issues and improvement opportunities.Candidates that are a flexible team player, work hard to complete your duties to the best of your ability and like to contribute in collaborative opportunities and training others, will contribute to your success.Your Future in the Role: This role as a Wastewater Maintenance Specialist puts you in a position to be a subject matter expert (SME) in your work. A position of influence to lead, instruct and train others while further development of technical and leadership skills for future opportunities. As a SME you are valued to share your perspectives and experiences to help shape future projects and decisions to our infrastructures.Wastewater Maintenance Specialist – Mechanical Core Duties Initiate tasks from supervisory staff and work orders from our computer maintenance management system.Perform work following safety procedure and regulations for self, coworkers and public.Manage and prioritize workload to meet completion deadlines.Perform maintenance on sewer related rotating, pneumatic, hydraulic, combustion equipment and HVAC, fire protection, water systems utilizing industry best practices to maintain reliability from experience or operation and maintenance manuals.Provide supervision with information on sewer related equipment and systems for additional maintenance and repairs, asset and maintenance schedule improvements.Provides influence for teamwork and positive working relationships with contracted service contractors, County personnel and public for effective work products and customer service. A classification description with a more detailed list of essential functions for the mechanical focused positions can be found here.QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of apprenticeship training from a recognized vocational technical school or training program.A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the maintenance and repair of mechanical, pumping, or collection system is required.A combination of education/experience which clearly demonstrates ability to perform the duties of this classification may be substituted for education and formal training.Basic computer skills will also be necessary. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSMust have a valid Washington State Driver’s License.Within the first twelve months, individuals must have the ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class “A” (Tank Vehicle) endorsement and Wastewater Collections Specialist Certification.As a condition of employment, the applicant will need to authorize and complete a background check.
