Salary: $60,000 – 65,000 annually

JOB SUMMARY Friends of Tryon Creek seeks an exceptional individual to lead its fundraising efforts to achieve its environmental conservation mission. The Development Director provides leadership and support to the Executive Director and the Board of Directors with fund development efforts including, but not limited to, soliciting major gifts, membership, corporate sponsorship, and planned giving programs as well as fundraising events. $850,000 budget

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

• Develop and manage a successful annual fundraising plan to meet budget goals.

• Lead the Fund Development committee of staff and board members to implement a strategic fundraising plan.

• Manage and grow individual membership program.

• Manage successful major donor program.

• Collaborate with finance department to ensure accuracy in donor management systems.

• Support Executive Director with the development of fundraising events and grant writing.

• Manage and evaluate planned giving program.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• 4+ year experience in individual and community philanthropy.

• Ability to develop and evaluate organizational development plan.

• Relational skill set to form and maintain donor relationships.

• Ability to inspire others one-on-one, in group settings and in writing

• Demonstrated verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills grounded in a relational style.

• Attention to administrative detail, ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and achieve goals.

• Ability to communicate across cultural boundaries, and as part of a collaborative team.

• Experience working with nonprofit financial management systems.
