Located on 240 acres of forest and grassland bordered by Western Washington’s Snoqualmie River, Oxbow’s mission is to inspire people to eat healthy, sustainably grown food and to steward our natural resources for future generations.  We have recently adopted a ten-year vision to dramatically increase our impact and reach, and to diversify our sources of funding.  We seek to become a vibrant hub for inspiration and learning, known for our creative and engaging year-round programming—a source for real-time practices that promote climate resilience and excite people to make choices in support of healthy food and a sustainable environment.  We are seeking a Marketing Manager to join our management team as we embark on these ambitious plans.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Do you have a head for results-driven marketing communications with a nonprofit heart?  Oxbow Farm & Conservation Center seeks a results-driven, customer-focused individual to oversee marketing for our growing non-profit organization.  Working closely with the Director of Business Development, the position leads and executes annual marketing planning, marketing program execution, paid advertising as well as branding and visual standards in support of our organizational growth.

A successful Marketing Manager will develop and execute an ambitious marketing plan to drive earned revenue for Oxbow’s Farm, Native Plant Nursery, Education and Membership Programs while increasing brand awareness and engagement with key audiences. They will supervise the Marketing Coordinator.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Marketing Manager will drive and ensure effective execution of marketing planning, creative concepting, execution and performance analytics to deliver on Oxbow’s annual goals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and manage the annual marketing communications plan including program specific marketing plans to achieve annual performance goals.
  • Drive awareness, engagement and customer acquisition to support organizational goals and mission.
  • Deliver media channel plans for email, social media, paid advertising and strategic partner communication channels. Manage advertising budget.
  • Ensure that brand identity, messaging and marketing and communications are consistent and align to guidelines.
  • Oversee creative design and messaging for digital channels including oxbow.org, social media channels and email communications.
  • Curate and manage content calendar based on annual public engagement and programming plans.
  • Craft on-brand customer communications including blog content, newsletter content and other forms of written communications.
  • Innovate new marketing approaches and concepts in service of organizational goals and objectives.
  • Respond to and optimize media inquiries.
  • Accountable for on-site customer facing messaging, printed materials and signage.
  • Measure, track and analyze marketing results to inform effective decision making.
  • Provide support to weekend events over the course of the year as required.
  • Play a key role in internal communication plans and processes.
  • Ensure Marketing objectives, strategies and messages are aligned with and supportive of Oxbow’s mission and strategic plan
  • Work cross-functionally with program teams to ensure efficient and effective communication and operations
  • Represent Oxbow in a positive, professional manner, engaging with and educating visitors about Oxbow’s mission and programs.
  • Perform other duties as needed and assigned by the Director of Business Development

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience (e.g., marketing, social media management, non-profit marketing, or entrepreneurial media and communications)
  • Demonstrated track-record of building efficient and effective marketing plans (plus for mission-based organizations)
  • Marketing and customer data analytics
  • Prior people management and development experience preferred
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Flexible, creative, and able to perform well in diverse conditions and under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Past experience with shaping creative visual standards
  • Self-starter; able to take initiative in the face of ambiguity, create alignment of key constituencies and drive to action
  • Fluent working in Microsoft suite (Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

COMPENSATION

This is a regular, full-time position, with a competitive compensation package, including 100% employer paid healthcare, annual dental stipend, generous holiday, vacation, and sick leave. Salary depends on qualifications.
