Duties
Summary
This position serves as a key advisor to the Regional Director and other members of the Regional Directorate Team (RDT) on all administrative and budgetary programs and policies, and also serves as the liaison between the Region and the Joint Administrative Operations (JAO) leadership. The incumbent will ensure that the needs of the region are communicated to the JAO and implement administrative changes throughout the region.
Responsibilities
- Develops policies which govern the administration of the Region, resolves complex and controversial administrative issues, and assures accomplishment of the objectives and actions prescribed by higher authority.
- Interprets, implements, and proposes modifications to Service policies and practices. Evaluates program business operations through audits, special studies, and reports.
- Investigates Regional complaints or responds to inquiries regarding waste, fraud, and abuse related to administrative or business operations and processes, made to Government Accountability Office, Inspector General, and other officials.
- Provides a communication and coordination link between the Joint Administrative Operations (JAO) and regional leadership on key administrative programs and procedures.
- Collaborates with leadership to ensure effective service delivery from the JAO with responsibility for region-wide general administrative management and technical services.
- Develops performance standards; monitors and evaluates performance; develops staff; maintains high standards of excellence; selects persons for staff positions; and hears and resolves grievances and complaints.
