The Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary provides lifetime homes for non-releasable native Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem wildlife. We are accredited by the American Sanctuary Association and currently house over 30 mammals and birds, including bears, canids, felids, bison, porcupines, raccoons, hawks, falcons, owls, vultures, and cranes.

The Education Manager is responsible for fulfilling the education portion of the Sanctuary’s mission statement, which includes developing and implementing educational programming for all ages (child and adult) with a focus on conservation and environmental education. As Education Manager, you will also be responsible for transitioning existing educational materials and tours to an online environment and for recruiting and training volunteer docents. You will also be responsible for developing, building, and documenting our collection of biofacts and creating fresh engaging displays in the education building.

This position requires working closely with the Animal Care department for identifying, training, and caring for animal ambassadors; the Grant Writer for funding educational programming; and the Executive Director on web content, social media, and podcasts.

We require experience in teaching and program development and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., biology, wildlife management, conservation, education…).

We prefer someone with strong computer/technical skills and experience with grant writing and budgeting.
