Director, Ocean Sustainability

The sustainability team operates as a trusted advisor in order to create positive impact in the world. We are looking for an oceans expert with experience in the corporate environment who can help us tap into the full power of Salesforce for the benefit of our oceans. The right candidate will bring a versatile array of skills in order to work with a wide variety of stakeholders inside and outside of Salesforce. Their responsibility will be to balance being able to define the strategic direction and execute forward progress at the same time.
Key responsibilities include:

Development and execution of Salesforce’s ocean impact program

Coordination across numerous external stakeholder initiatives including those of Salesforce’s customers and partners, the Benioff Ocean Initiative, the World Economic Forum’s Friends of Ocean Action and many others

Inspire, empower and engage numerous internal stakeholders including the corporate sustainability team, impact team, philanthropy team, equality team, employee resource groups, pro-bono volunteer efforts and more.

Representing Salesforce at key internal and external events related to environmental impact and oceans

Supporting Salesforce leading up to and around key global events
About you:

You’re a driven, values-based leader who’s passionate about making a difference through business

You are adept at facilitating multi stakeholder and multi sector initiatives as well as building enduring, trusted relationships with executive stakeholders

You can work effectively within varied business contexts including technology, finance, public policy and communications

You enjoy working strategically and operationally, both conceiving of- and delivering programs

You love project management and pride yourself on having brilliant organizational skills and attention to detail
-
You are comfortable making decisions with incomplete information, managing through ambiguity and changing direction to seize opportunities

You see, value and pursue the intersectional opportunities to create positive outcomes that span equality, environment, economy and more.

You have been successful working within a matrixed organizational structure where you lead through influence and collaboration

You use data to make the right decisions and yet can move fast in the context of changing and sometimes incomplete context and analysis.

You have experience managing strategic event sponsorships and high-profile corporate convenings

Proficiency with Salesforce, PowerPoint, Keynote, and Google Drive preferred
Requirements:
-
10+ years of related experience
-
Experience working directly on issues related to ocean health
-
Experience working on challenges and opportunities related to plastic pollution

Excellent stakeholder management skills – including proven experience working closely with executives
-
Proven experience in a role requiring high-attention to detail and organization skills in a fast paced environment
