The Community Program Assistant Internship is a new role designed to support
NSEA’s Program Team by facilitating community and student opportunities
throughout Whatcom County, including but not limited to the Students for
Salmon, Stream Stewards, and Nooksack River Stewards Programs.
Position is contingent on funding and public health related regulations.
18 years or older
• Must have high school diploma/GED
• Dependable with strong passion for NSEA’s mission
• Able to work independently and on a team 16-20 hrs/wk in outdoor and office settings throughout term
• Meet requirement of 300 total hours
• Available Saturdays and at least one partial weekday
• Available on February 20, April 24, and June 19
Learning Objectives ​(Required for Internships and Work Study)​
Lead, educate, and engage restoration volunteers
• Educate students in the classroom and field
• Provide support for setup and cleanup of events
• Develop creative multimedia outreach materials
• Support program development and outreach
• Flexibility to complete various other assigned tasks
