As a Supervisory Fish and Wildlife Biologist your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Serves as a supervisor, exercising the full range of supervisory and managerial duties for the Permits Branch staff. Provides administrative and technical guidance to subordinate staff and gives advice and support to other Service Programs in carrying out the Service’s responsibilities under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act. This includes technical assistance in the fields of migratory bird and eagle biology, conservation, and management as well as pertinent regulations, policy, and guidance. Develops and presents, or assists in developing and presenting, related training and workshops. The Migratory Bird Permit Office reviews and evaluates requests for permit actions, including ensuring applications meet issuance criteria and falls within current regulations, policy and guidance and evaluating population impacts of take from the wild, for all migratory bird and eagle species (over 1,000) across the highly varied environments.
