Landscape Architect for Environmental Consulting Firm
(North Seattle)
Raedeke Associates, Inc. is looking for a Licensed Landscape Architect with experience and expertise in wetland and riparian mitigation design, implementation, and monitoring, as well as low-impact development design such as bio-retention facilities and rain gardens. We are a small, employee-owned Environmental Consulting firm located in the Northgate area of north Seattle.
The position is non-exempt hourly with a flexible work schedule and opportunity to work from home as necessary to comply with COVID-19 safety protocols. We have a casual office environment and offer free parking with easy access to many local services.
Summary of Duties:
The successful candidate will demonstrate ability to prepare mitigation design plans for wetlands, streams, and critical area buffers, and conduct construction, compliance, and long-term monitoring. The position also involves providing third-party review of applicant submittals for local jurisdictions, managing projects, preparing budgets and proposals, supervising field crews, and review of contractor work and submittals, as needed.
Desired Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture and biology or related fields, with an emphasis on native plants of the Pacific Northwest
- Certification as a Professional Landscape Architect
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience
- Training and experience in landscape design, implementation, and monitoring, with an emphasis on native wetland and riparian systems
- Experience on construction project sites, including review and approval of contractor submittals and compliance with plan specifications
- Training and experience in low impact development features, such as bioretention facilities, rain gardens, soft shore design
- Certificate in Wetland Science & Management from the University of Washington would be a plus
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Proficiency in current CAD software; proficiency in ArcGIS a plus
- Valid driver’s license
