Summary

This position is in Region 10, Laboratory Services and Applied Science Division, Risk Evaluation Branch.  If selected, you must work at the location stated in this announcement.

Salary will be based on the grade level for which you are selected.

Responsibilities

At the entry level of this position, you will:

  • Assist in the design, preparation and review of plans to monitor and characterize contaminant occurrence, fate and transport, and remediation in the environment.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of site-specific data, technical evaluations and documents.
  • Develop conclusions/recommendations for consideration by Remedial Project Managers (RPMs), managers, and other internal and external parties related to contaminant fate and transport, remedial approaches, and effectiveness of remedial actions.
  • Assist in presentation of information on, and response to questions concerning, impacts of contaminants on soil, groundwater and surface water.
  • Represent Superfund program on regional and national committees/workgroups addressing groundwater and soil contamination issues.
