Successful candidates will work with a multidisciplinary team of accomplished scientists, planners, engineers, arborists, and landscape architects in a growing 37-year-old employee-owned company based in Kirkland, WA. Responsibilities: 

  • Manage environmentally complex projects, specializing in streams, wetlands, wildlife, and shorelines.

  • Oversee all stages of project development, including site assessment, public involvement, conceptual through final design, permitting, and long-range planning projects

  • Within the candidate’s scope of expertise, grow a practice within the company that is complementary to existing services and aligns with the firm’s mission, including fostering clients, sales and marketing, mentorship to and hiring of junior staff.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Strong entrepreneurial goal to invest as a partner in the practice.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience involving Puget Sound-area critical areas and shoreline regulations, statewide GMA and SMA rules, and other State and Federal regulations for natural resource related projects.

  • Excellent writing, organizational, critical thinking, and communication skills are required.

  • Experience managing design teams and projects; desire to work in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

  • Experience writing scopes of work, project budgeting and responding to RFPs. Grant writing experience a plus.

  • Depth of knowledge on local environmental regulatory processes and requirements, including development codes and standards.
