PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- The technical staff conducting Energy Northwest environmental programs including, NPDES compliance monitoring, radiological and non-radiological environmental monitoring and groundwater monitoring. Ensures that all programs meet regulatory requirements and commitments. Assists in developing short- and long-term goals and objectives for the annual marketing and sales plan. Makes recommendations regarding employment, performance expectations/reviews, promotions, salary changes, transfers and terminations. Resolves personnel problems, allocates work, reviews and approves procedures, assists and trains subordinates as necessary.
- The Environmental and Analytical Services Laboratory. Provides environmental testing services, commercial grade dedication of materials, procurement quality assurance testing, lubricant condition monitoring, and hazardous waste sample analysis to clients within and external to Energy Northwest. Ensures that data generated by the laboratory meets DOE and/or DOH accreditation criteria.
- The daily operation of the Energy Northwest EMIT FFD laboratory. Provides training to technical personnel, oversees the performance of proficiency evaluations, and ensures the program meets NRC regulatory requirements.
- The operation of the sanitary waste treatment facility. Provides training to maintain operator certification. Ensures compliance with DOE, DOH, and EFSEC regulations.
Must participate on the Emergency Response team (ERO) when designated
Must support the biennial refueling outage
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Chemistry, Biological Science, or a related field and eight years of experience performing routine analytical bench chemistry operations as well as medium and high complexity analytical chemistry processes in a commercial analytical laboratory setting, or eight years in the field of environmental testing services including air and ground water monitoring. Must be qualified or able to qualify as a laboratory supervisor as described in the WDOE environmental laboratory accreditation program. Three years of supervisory experience in science or technical field may be considered in lieu of three of the eight years required.
Salary: $113,420 minimum to $141,775 midpoint
Typically, selected candidates are hired at a salary rate between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.
