The Introduction to Scientific Illustration class is a foray into observational drawing, as well as an introduction to drawing tools, techniques, and materials used in scientific illustration.

This exhibition features the students’ artwork from the Summer 2020 Introduction to Scientific Illustration class during which the students built observational and visual interpretation skills while exploring illustration. As we all adapted this summer, our class was held entirely virtually and these works were created through experimentation and innovation.

There were three main assignments, using a variety of techniques and mediums including graphite, pen and ink, colored pencil, and watercolor. Each main assignment included support projects that the students created as part of their process for practicing and learning techniques prior to completing their final drawings.

You are invited to enjoy this exhibit. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments. Thank you!
