College governance includes a variety committees of staff, faculty, and students responsible for making critical strategic and operational recommendations and decisions. The Geoduck Student Union appoints students to represent the student body on governance committees and task forces across the college. All Evergreen students in all programs are are encouraged to apply!

Responsibilities of Student Representatives

  • Attend all assigned governance committee meetings (typically 2-8 hours per month, depending on committee)
  • Represent the student experience in good faith during governance discussion and decision-making
  • Work with committee chair to understand the purpose, foundational documents, and processes of the committee
  • Submit a Shared Governance Report of relevant meeting notes, actions taken, and questions for follow-up to the GSU

  • Appointed students will receive compensation of $50 per regularly scheduled committee meeting attended
