College governance includes a variety committees of staff, faculty, and students responsible for making critical strategic and operational recommendations and decisions. The Geoduck Student Union appoints students to represent the student body on governance committees and task forces across the college. All Evergreen students in all programs are are encouraged to apply!

  • AAC&U Artificial Intelligence, Pedagogy, and Curriculum Institute Workgroup1 OPENING
    • This workgroup will learn from national experts, share knowledge, and conduct research about AI use at Evergreen.
    • This workgroup consists of 6-hour institute meeting days on September 11-12, 2025, January 9, 2026, and April 6-7, 2026. The meeting compensation will be modified to $100 per institute meeting.
    • Regular meeting times outside of the dates above will be determined by the group once it is established.

Responsibilities of Student Representatives
– Attend all assigned governance committee meetings (typically 2-8 hours per month, depending on committee)
– Represent the student experience in good faith during governance discussion and decision-making 
– Work with committee chair to understand the purpose, foundational documents, and processes of the committee 
– Submit a Shared Governance Report of relevant meeting notes, actions taken, and questions for follow-up to the GSU 

Minimum Qualifications 
– Currently enrolled Evergreen student for Fall 2024-Spring 2025
– In satisfactory academic and conduct standing 

Meeting Compensation
– Appointed students will receive compensation of $50 per regularly scheduled committee meeting attended
