I leave for the camino tomorrow and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Hunter and I are building a solid relationship, struggling together across Spain. I’m so proud of how hard he’s worked to make all of this possible for us, and in a humble way I know I’ve put in a lot of effort as well. I’m genuinely proud of the both of us, together. We’re off to Barcelona for a week to celebrate my 21st birthday! I don’t expect much but Hunter is always so thoughtful and generous, I’m sure the day will go wonderfully. Our bags are packed & good to go! Buen Camino to my fellow pilgrims!

Living The Student Life
Having attended Evergreen for over two years, I’ve become incredibly comfortable here in Olympia. I’ve moved from place to place amongst the county, but I’m not often pushed outside of this “comfort zone.” My program Walking The Camino is preparing me for the opportunity of a lifetime to break out of this safe space and challenge myself both intellectually and spiritually. Reading many books and articles about travel, and social/cultural awareness- specifically along the Camino de Santiago and in Spain- we are confronting our fears and learning useful information that may prove helpful in overcoming the many struggles ahead.
