This meant that the deer that had once been herd animals began to separate. The students noticed that just as a predator animal might, they loosely set up “territories” and traveled about them to search for food when needed. They were observed to often keep to the forest but they had even become territorial of the portion they claimed.

These behaviors had been consistent following the incident as the students of Evergreen had been able to note. With constant tracking of these behaviors and their whereabouts, the students at Evergreen were able to figure out how to work around these changes best they could.

It was due to this constant tracking that a sudden shift was immediately noticed by some of the students in charge. It was something that, to the students now, was immediately odd– some deer were being seen in groups again. The sightings were inconsistent at first but then more people observed these sightings themselves.

It is now without question to the students of Evergreen that there is a change occurring amongst the deer once more. They are beginning to show grouping mentality again and students have begun to track and find out the details of this.

As of right now, the behaviors they have observed from these deer is that they all appear to be similar in age or at least size. There is no observable mixing of genders, any groups of deer that have been observed have been within their same gender– female deer are observed with other female deer and the same had been observed with male deer. The groups observed so far have been no larger than four in a single group. Students are hesitant to call this “herding behavior” yet because of the differences still being observed. The deer are still observed to have predator tendencies and have even been seen sharing meals amongst their other group members.

More is being observed and noted on by the student of Evergreen as the situation continues to unfold.

Since the incident first occurred, the behavior of the deer had become different– what were once prey animals became the predators, as the natural order of things had seemed to flip.
