There have begun to be more organized efforts to go into the forest, doing their best to avoid the areas with the fog, with the growing number of people becoming affected by it.

This was when the sightings began to become a reality. Shadows and sudden movement would be caught; some students in the parties would swear they caught a glimpse of something. The student had to replan going into the forest, but they could not afford to avoid it all together, not when the path to the farm was still unavailable.
Putting their heads together, they began to try various methods: larger groups, scouts, and going to locations with fewer sightings.

The inexperience in foraging and hunting was still these groups’ biggest hurdle. Some groups would find plants, unsure if they were safe, and others would fail to see any animals at all.

They once again had to replan their approaches to the forest. There was so much knowledge the students needed. That was when the students got together to determine a new plan: they needed to recruit more students of all varieties, artists, writers, and anybody with specialized skills. They needed these students to help catalog things as they made trips out.

With this new plan, the students began to organize specialized parties, bringing somebody who could sketch to make drawings, bringing somebody who could scout and spot things of note, and somebody able to help journal. If they saw tracks, they began to record the time of day, shape, and depth. They would then use these to bring them to people who could help identify the plants, people in the library who could help them if nobody else could, while other students began to make maps, noting the locations of certain things of note found in the forest. Some students would dedicate to specifically to tracking the movement of animals and figuring out more about their tracks to better do so.

While the trips were largely unsuccessful, the students began to realize the depth to which they would need to get creative and band together to begin to tackle the issues at hand.

As food began to run out, the students were feeling the pressure and the clock ticking.
