{"id":368,"date":"2016-10-17T00:31:46","date_gmt":"2016-10-17T07:31:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/psam1617\/?p=368"},"modified":"2016-10-17T15:03:18","modified_gmt":"2016-10-17T22:03:18","slug":"week-5-cross-program-social-and-lecture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/psam1617\/week-5-cross-program-social-and-lecture\/","title":{"rendered":"Week 5 cross-program social and lecture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A reminder that on week 5 Tuesday October 25, we&#8217;ll have a cross-program mixer with students in the Matter &amp; Motion program, followed by a lecture by Evergreen graduate Dr. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/lsa.umich.edu\/chem\/people\/faculty\/gshultz.html\">Ginger Shultz<\/a><\/strong>, currently an assistant professor at the University of Michigan.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We&#8217;ll have lunch with the M&amp;M students from 11:30 &#8211; 1 (details TBA), where you&#8217;ll have a chance to share with them your academic trajectory. This will help the M&amp;M students with their academic planning and help you with your articulation of your own trajectory. This serves as another exercise devoted to helping you work on your Academic Statement, and we encourage you to bring your latest draft of your Academic Statement to share both with M&amp;M and PSAM students.<\/li>\n<li>From 1 &#8211; 2, Dr. Shultz will give a lecture on her research but also discuss her own academic trajectory at Evergreen and out in to the world.<\/li>\n<li>We will have Classical Mechanics from 2:15 &#8211; 3:30 in the CAL, which will consist of a review session for the CM Exam on Thu. Oct. 27.<\/li>\n<li>We know that students only in the applied math part of the program may have other commitments after 11; if possible we ask that you join us for as many of the cross-program activities as you can.<\/li>\n<li>FYI, for the all-program meeting on Wed.
