Week 1 reading assignment

For the first day of class, please read the following:

Before our class meeting on Wednesday March 30, please read:

  • Biology of Plants, Chapter 3

Before our first lab on Thursday March 31, please:

  • complete the Lab Safety Quiz (info here)
  • Read over Botany Lab 1 (available here, includes both Botany Lab 1 and Botany Lab 2, so you just need to read over pages 1 – 8); no need to print out your own copy – we’ll provide a printed version to you on the first day of class.

First class meeting

We look forward to meeting you for our first class meeting!

Our mandatory first class meeting begins promptly at 9:00 am Tuesday March 29 in Sem 2 B1105 (the Seminar 2 complex, building B, room 1105).

Registered students who are not present at that time and have not contacted us in advance will be dropped to make room for students hoping to join.

Van drivers for field trips

We will be going on two local field trips this quarter (to a botanical Conservatory in Tacoma and to a local prairie near Tenino, WA) and will need a few students to volunteer to drive vans. If any of you are willing or interested in driving on field trips, you can visit the Evergreen motor pool website for details on how to obtain your Evergreen Vehicle Use Permit: http://www.evergreen.edu/motorpool/ and scroll down for the link for Vehicle Use Permit. If you already have a current Vehicle Use Permit and are willing to drive on field trips, please let us know.
