{"id":504,"date":"2022-09-27T17:05:42","date_gmt":"2022-09-28T00:05:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/photoland\/?page_id=504"},"modified":"2026-03-19T14:25:35","modified_gmt":"2026-03-19T21:25:35","slug":"community-members","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/photoland\/community-members\/","title":{"rendered":"General Public Access"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><em>Photoland will reopen for all patrons for the quarter on <strong>Monday, March 30th, 2026<\/strong>.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>General Public Pricing and Available Services<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Members of the general public who are not Evergreen affiliated, (meaning they are not a current student, staff, or faculty member at The Evergreen State College) are welcome to use Photoland&#8217;s facilities and services! We call these patrons &#8220;community members&#8221; and they contribute greatly to our vibrant learning community.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Community members must pay a fee to use Photoland&#8217;s facilities.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There are two options for passes to use Photoland&#8217;s facilities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Daily Pass Fee &#8211; $30 per day<\/li>\n<li>Quarterly Pass Fee &#8211; $150 per quarter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To purchase a pass, please stop into Photoland in person or email us at <strong>photolandstaff@evergreen.edu<\/strong> and we will assist you in getting that set up.<\/p>\n<p>Community members have access to most of the facilities within Photoland, as well as our paid services. We offer paid services for digital printing and film processing; for more information on our services, please visit the links below. <em>All\u00a0 services linked below come at an additional cost not included in the daily or quarterly pass.<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><a style=\"color: #000000;text-decoration: underline\" href=\"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/photoland\/digital-printing\/\">Digital Printing<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><a style=\"color: #000000;text-decoration: underline\" href=\"https:\/\/sites.evergreen.edu\/photoland\/film-processing\/\">Film Processing<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In-person facilities that community members can gain access to include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Digital Imaging Studio<\/li>\n<li>Black &amp; White Film Processing<\/li>\n<li>Black &amp; White Darkroom<\/li>\n<li>Print Finishing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Some of these spaces require proficiencies for use<strong>, <\/strong>such as the black and white film processing area and the black and white darkroom. Even if you had a proficiency for one of these spaces prior to the pandemic, you will have to retake these proficiencies prior to using the spaces. We offer proficiencies in these spaces three times per quarter (except for Summer). Reach out to us to inquire and sign up!\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>OUR SERVICES, EQUIPMENT, AND FACILITIES MUST NEVER BE USED FOR WORK THAT IS FOR PROFIT! This means you can not use our printers to make prints that will be for sale, you can not process film or work in the darkroom on photos that someone has paid you to take, and you can not use our computers or cameras for paid photography or editing.<\/h3>\n<p><strong>In order to use Photoland&#8217;s facilities and services, you must read and sign our community member agreement which indicates that you understand and agree to abide by the policies for community member access. Photoland staff will provide you with this form when you come into Photoland.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you have any questions regarding the above information or just about our space and facilities, please email us at photolandstaff@evergreen.edu.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4>Community Member Agreement Form Information:<\/h4>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">As a user of\u00a0Photoland\u2019s\u00a0facilities, you understand that you must abide by Evergreen\u2019s social contract as well as the statements listed below.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Social Contract is an agreement; a guide for civility and tolerance toward others; a reminder that respecting others and\u00a0remaining\u00a0open to others and their ideas provides a powerful framework for teaching and learning.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">You also understand that\u00a0Photoland\u2019s\u00a0facilities and equipment can never be used for\u00a0profitable\u00a0work. T<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">his means you cannot use our printers to make prints that will be for\u00a0sale,\u00a0you cannot process film or work in the darkroom on photos that someone has paid you to take, and you cannot use our computers or cameras for paid photography or editing.\u00a0By signing this agreement, you understand that if you are found to be using our facilities or equipment for profitable purposes, you will be removed from the space without\u00a0refund\u00a0and not allowed to return.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Equity and Inclusion<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Library and Media Services team is committed to being a welcoming campus community that reflects and enacts the values of diversity, equity and inclusion that inform academic excellence at Evergreen. We aim to cultivate a space that is diverse,\u00a0equitable, and enhances inclusive learning and the working environments for all that use our space. We expect people using our facilities to\u00a0read through\u00a0Photoland\u2019s\u00a0handbook before using our space and to respect the procedures that it dictates.
