As a result, our commitment to teaching excellence must be paramount, and our general education program plays an especially important role in helping traditionally under-served students become college-educated professionals and contributing citizens. Our DSU team applied to attend the 2018 <em>AAC&amp;U General Education and Assessment Summer Institute. <\/em>As a result of participation in the Institute, the DSU team has identified goals and activities that will, ideally, result in the implementation of an improved General Education program beginning in the fall of 2020.
