Bowcutt, 2021.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge is a&nbsp;12.6&nbsp;km<sup>2<\/sup>&nbsp;wild life refuge, established in 1974, located in Thurston and Pierce Counties. The Refuge provides an excellent opportunity to view different habitats that exist in the Pacific Northwest. Within the boundaries of the Refuge you will find an estuary, salt marshes, open mudflats, freshwater marshes, grassland, riparian woodland, as well as viewing access to the Nisqually River.
